MIRRAD’s Park Royal studio is the operational core of our practice a large-scale creative and technical environment purpose-built for contemporary touring production.

Designed to support multiple campaigns simultaneously, the studio allows us to develop, programme and refine several productions at once without compromise. Dedicated programming bays, full-scale control setups and flexible work areas enable us to move fluidly between intimate underplays, theatre tours, arena shows and major festival stages. It is a working studio engineered for pace, precision and practicality.

At the centre of the space is our advanced pre-visualisation facility. Powered by industry-standard platforms including WYSIWYG, real-time 3D environments and integrated media server workflows, we are able to construct accurate digital replicas of entire productions before they reach site. Lighting, video and scenic systems are designed and programmed as a unified ecosystem rather than separate departments.

Our control infrastructure reflects the same philosophy. As an Avolites house, we programme across D9 and D7 platforms alongside high-performance media servers, ensuring touring-ready show files that translate directly into live environments. The studio is built to mirror real-world touring conditions from pixel-mapped video systems to complex fixture libraries and scalable stage geometries allowing us to stress-test creative ideas against technical and logistical realities.

This process enables us to:

– Integrate lighting, video and scenic design into one cohesive system

– Identify and resolve technical challenges early

– Accurately scale productions between venues

– Optimise touring efficiency and budget performance

– Protect creative intent from rehearsal through to first show

The result is clarity and confidence. When a production leaves Park Royal, it has already been pressure-tested, refined and aligned with the realities of the road.

Beyond programming, the studio functions as a collaborative creative environment for artists, managers and production teams. Visual identities are developed, refined and translated into practical touring systems under one roof. Creative ambition is balanced with technical discipline from the outset, ensuring bold ideas remain deliverable at scale.

Park Royal is not simply a workspace. It is where concept becomes infrastructure and where visual direction becomes tour-ready production.
